Ministers of Culture in the Pacific islands countries will get together on the occasion of the 11th Festival of Pacific Arts to discuss cultural policy and strategy for sustainable development in the Pacific region. A public symposium will also be held by UNESCO, SPC and WIPO to examine current issues on culture and development in the region.

The ministerial meeting will highlight the contribution of culture to sustainable developpment through UNESCO's normative action focusing on 2003 and 2005 Conventions.
