- Introduction
- An international conference dedicated to the regulation and economics of telecommunications networks in Africa will be held from 26 to 28 October 2011 in Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso). This conference aims to bring together French-speaking all stakeholders interested in African and international issues related to the development of electronic communications networks on the African continent. This conference is for academics and professionals. It is an extension of training in Telecommunications Regulation held in francophone Africa since 2005.Over the past decade, telecommunications exploding in Africa, as a result of the dissemination and widespread use of mobile phones. This new market open to competition and regulated by sectoral regulators, contributes to economic development directly and indirectly and profoundly changes the economies and societies of Africa. The highly specific on the African continent (young people, rural, low-density and low-income, fixed networks in a precarious situation, difficult access to international backbones, access key group, stormed the first broadband on mobile, etc.. ) warrant specific approaches and economic networks and their regulation.
