  • Introduction
  • The SAMSA conferences have over the last 30 years served as an avenue for the exchange of knowledge, information and provoking new ideas in problem solving between experts from Southern Africa’s academic, industrial and commercial sectors. Being conscious that the world is increasingly becoming one, SAMSA has always extended invitation to experts from the western countries who have been gracious enough to be present to share their ideas at the conferences. To commemorate the association’s achievements, SAMSA will this year hold its conference in the tourist town of Livingstone in Zambia. The 2011 SAMSA conference will be jointly hosted by University of Zambia, Copperbelt University and Mulungushi University.

Theme: The theme for this year’s conference will be "The role of Mathematical Sciences in sustainable development."

    Aim and Objectives:
The aim of the conference is to provide a platform for experts for an exchange of ideas.

Specific objectives of the conference are:

    1. To present the most recent advances in Pure and Applied Mathematical Sciences.
    2. To share ideas on new approaches to problem-solving in current research areas in the Mathematical Sciences.
    3. To present different mathematical models in problem–solving in the areas of health, education, finance, environment, engineering, commerce and industry.
    4. To promote networking among experts in different disciplines of Mathematical Sciences.
