- Introduction
- The Workshop will cover both theoretical and applied aspects of seismic anisotropy in earth sciences. In particular, the workshop will focus on applications of anisotropic models and methods in exploration & development of both conventional and unconventional Oil & Gas reservoirs, earthquake seismology, and reservoir monitoring using seismic anisotropy and microseismic. Key areas will include multi-component seismic data acquisition and processing, anisotropic velocity analysis, seismic imaging, seismic inversion of wide-azimuth data, seismic fracture detection & characterization, fluid flow in fractured media, effective medium theory, stress/frac monitoring, earthquake prediction, time-lapse seismic monitoring, frequency-dependent anisotropy, up-scaling, seismic anisotropy from well data such as sonic logs & VSP, and poroelasticity.
