This year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the National Council for Scientific Research (CNRS-Lebanon).  Since 1962, the council has endeavored to enhance its role in scientific research, overcoming various challenges: social, educational and environmental towards guaranteeing an impact in priority scientific fields while keeping track of sustainable development in Lebanon.

To celebrate its Golden Jubilee, the CNRS is organizing an international conference, under the general theme of “Research and Society”.

The conference program will cover four main topics: (i) research and development; (ii) research and higher education; (iii) research and the environment; (iv) research and innovation.

This conference will also be an occasion for the CNRS to present its achievements and to reflect on its future role in serving the scientific community in Lebanon.
