International Summit of Istanbul Economists has been designed as a scientific activity of International Association of Istanbul Economists, IKDER, in order to create a favorable environment for scientific researches and debates on economic and social issues which are at the forefront of scientific agenda, and to encourage young scientists and scientific studies in the field of economics at the national and international level, and also to establish a qualified and notable scientific ground which allows to determine objective and guiding economic and social policies. This activity is carried out in cooperation with the Faculty of Economics of Istanbul University.

The Summit is one of the most important scientific activities of International Association of Istanbul Economists. The Summit is organized by the Scientific and Executive Board composed of prestigious faculty members from different Turkish Universities.

International Summit of Istanbul Economists has different economic and social themes for each year. The Summit is consist of two parts. The first part includes invited speakers who are composed of academicians, experts, bureaucrats, politicians and private sector members. The second part includes academicians and researchers whose papers are accepted by the Referees. While invited speeches are usually held as keynote speeches, national and international papers are presented in parallel sessions.
