In 2013, Andy Warton will attempt the first circumnavigation of the Independent State of Samoa in a Hobie Adventure Island kayak, and in the process, raise money for youth suicide prevention and awareness.

This voyage, if successfully completed, may become the first such circumnavigation ever – Samoan and other seafarers have voyaged in the waters around these islands, but there is no record of any vessel making such a circumnavigation. As the journey unfolds, Andy will be joined on the water at various villages by local fishermen, traditional outrigger groups, surfers and other boats. Although he will be by himself for most of the 400km journey, he will not be alone. This is a key message for our youth, who should always have someone to turn to in difficult times.
