The Badminton World Federation (BWF) is recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as the world governing body for the sport of badminton.

The BWF is empowered by the IOC and the BWF’s 170 Members to govern the sport of badminton - 158 of these Members are National Badminton Federations under the IOC/NOC structure.

In partnership with its five Continental Confederations and its Members, the BWF promotes, presents, develops, and regulates the sport worldwide.

The BWF has its headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with an office in Lausanne, Switzerland.
