- Introduction
- The Eighth Annual Mental and Behavioral Health Symposium will focus on the brain-behavior relationship and the role of neuropsychological testing and assessment in developing comprehensive treatment plans to address the full spectrum of patient care needs. National and local experts will discuss the impact of neurologic considerations when evaluating and treating patients.
Upon completion of this symposium, participants should be better able to:
Describe the procedures involved in a behavioral neurological evaluation.
Explain the brain’s role in psychiatric and neurological disturbances.
Integrate the results of a brain function examination into patient treatment.
Utilize neuropsychological assessment to identify comorbid neurological conditions and implement appropriate treatment.
Recognize more varied applications of neuropsychological assessment in clinical medicine and appropriately select diagnostic tool to develop patient treatment plans.
Establish when an assessment referral is required in adolescent patients.
Explain the assessment process for children and adolescents.
Appropriately implement assessment results into clinical interventions.
