  • Introduction
  • This symposium will provide a stage to world leaders in the field of investigation of host-pathogen interactions and new vaccines against TB, to present to the scientific community their efforts and the results of the latest research in vaccines against TB. Among them are many scientists of TBVI's research partners. This symposium is open to everyone interested in TB vaccine development.

TBVI stimulates integrated European efforts to develop more effective, safe vaccines against tuberculosis, that will be globally accessible and affordable.

    Our vision statement:

TBVI wants to develop new vaccines to protect future generations against tuberculosis.

    Our objectives:
    1. Stimulate research and discovery on tuberculosis (TB) vaccines
    2. Assure preclinical and early phase clinical development
    3. Guarantee that promising projects result in affordable vaccines as soon as
    possible
    4. Develop biomarkers that will increase performance and speed of vaccine
    development
    5. Increase capacity of existing clinical trial sites in developing countries
    6. Raise political and public awareness on the global health threat of TB and
    the need for new vaccines
