- Introduction
- The purpose of this CME activity is to assess and manage acute and chronic orthopaedic conditions with special emphasis on sports-related injuries
Preliminary Objectives for Activity:
“At the conclusion of this CME activity, participants shall be able to"
• Review coding requirements for orthopaedic injuries
• Discuss how children are different from skeletally mature individuals
• Assess the complexities of the shoulder joint
• Review injuries of the elbow in children and adults
• Identify causes of acute wrist pain
• Develop a treatment plan for fractures
• Review the diagnosis and treatment for hip and pelvic pain
• Apply a treatment algorithm to knee injuries
• Demonstrate an understanding of acute and chronic knee injuries
• Recognize the complications and difficulties of treating ankle trauma in active patients
