- The theme of FAIM 2012 conference is Competitive and Sustainable Manufacturing and Service Systems and Technologies. For manufacturing enterprises, the ability to produce and provide products and services that meet the needs of customers in a profitable way has a key role in achieving and realizing competitiveness. Sustainability, on the other hand, is defined as actions and development that meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Thus, competitive and sustainable manufacturing requires that manufacturing systems, technologies, and services are profitable and viable both now and in the future.
