- Introduction
The conference will focus on the use of analytical and spectroscopic techniques in the fields of arts, archaeology and cultural heritage. Its aim is to bring together leading experts: academics, researchers, scientists, artists and students from the world’s premiere institutions to discuss the latest developments in the field from both scientific and cultural aspects. It will provide a forum for scientists in the region to interact, exchange ideas and possibly start collaborations with each other and with the international community. It will promote educational aspects, as well as showcase the latest technical developments in the field of non-destructive testing for the diagnosis and conservation of cultural heritage materials and the environmental impact on these. This includes the study of pigment, maps, manuscripts, stones, metals, glass, and ceramics. Chemometrics on artwork, the study of resins, fibers, and forensic applications in art history, provenance and authenticity, are also welcome.
