- Introduction
- Latin America is an important base for the world supply of metals. The outlook for the region’s mining is healthy because of the strong demand for minerals by the Chinese, Indians and other economies. Currently, the investment portfolio in the region is about US$60 billion for the next five years, especially in Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Mexico and Peru. For Latin America to further grow, it is very imperative for mining professionals to deal with challenges within the region. While the region has long been recognized for its abundant geological wealth, mining professionals have to identify ways of exploring in regions which are remotely located. Along with this, there are many more challenges that LatAm International Mining Conference will address.
