Sydney, NSW, Australia
- Introduction
- The opportunity shared services presents to the public sector across Australia and New Zealand has been resolutely recognised. Yet, despite notable progress in terms of joint ventures, co-location and cost savings, public sector transformation still has a long way to go before it can be labeled ‘best practice’.
From state government to national commissions; local to federal level, savings have been cited, plans designed, technology purchased and transformation journeys embarked upon.
But the question is not whether to pursue public sector shared services, but how to ensure it is done well.
The public sector has realised that cost savings alone, although a major driver, are no longer a satisfactory result – a citizen-centric shared service strategy must be developed and sustained.
So what is the public sector in Australasia doing to maximise their ventures in shared services?
Through SSON’s extensive contacts and research network within the A/NZ public sector landscape, our Public Sector Transformation Forum will bring together different factions, functions and maturity levels for three days of interactive learning and knowledge transfer in the region’s leading event for Public Sector Shared Services. - Useful Links
