- Introduction
- This course is intended for CSR practitioners working in and for the mining industry; corporate and external affairs managers. Participants will be provided with:An understanding of what is meant by terms such as ‘social performance’, ‘social risk’, ‘monitoring’ and ‘evaluation’;An enhanced appreciation of the importance of monitoring and evaluation and of the business case for strengthening corporate capability in this area;Guidance on how companies can ensure that they are ‘measuring what matters’ at the operational level;Practical advice on the design and roll-out of social performance indicators;Information about useful resources.The course will use a case study based approach to explore these issues, utilising work that CSRM has undertaken with mining operations in Australia and internationally. Participants will also be encouraged to discuss and share their own experiences and challenges.
