Frontier Issues in Physics of Exotic Nuclei (YKIS2011) - October 11, 2011 - October 15, 2011
- Yukawa Institute for Theoretical Physics
-

- Introduction
- The symposium series Yukawa International Seminar (YKIS) has been one of the main international activities of YITP since 1978. The symposium is held annually, covering essentially all the fields of physics. The most recent one on low-energy nuclear physics was "Physics of Unstable Nuclei" (YKIS2001) held in 2001. In the present YKIS2011, we will focus on the following subjects and discuss forefront issues in physics of exotic nuclei including recent experimental and theoretical activities in this field.Subjects to be discussed at YKIS2011 include:Shell evolution and single-particle motionClustering and pair correlationsCollectivity and shape dynamicsExotic excitations and exotic statesWeakly bound and unbound nucleiDirect and compound reactions, radioactive decays involving exotic nucleiDynamics and structure of superheavy nucleiAsymmetric matter at various conditionsExotic nuclei in astrophysicsLarge-scale calculations and ab-initio theories
