  • Lecithin is a fatty substance exists in tissues of animals and plants. Best source is soybeans oil but sunflower is perfect alternate due to allergy issues associated with soy. Egg York is also another source of Lecithin. It is natural emulsifier or lubricant.

  • Muslims are not forbidden to eat lecithin but as may be derived from animal as well as plant sources, care must be taken to ensure this source is halal. Lecithin derived from plants and egg yolks is permissible.
