  • Pepper comes from several species of a vinous plant, the spice being the fruit, called peppercorns. Pepper is best ground directly on to food. With hot food it is best to add it well towards the end of the cooking process, to preserve its aroma. There are several types of pepper red or pick, black, white and green etc. It contains vitamins A and C, is used in seasoning and as a vegetable food.
